This is the finished band from the box tape loom. The reverse is on the left.
The pattern is from Finland via the band_snoddar yahoogroup’s files. I love this pattern. It has similarities to the black and white pattern I wove for my belt shown in a previous post. The doubled x-shapes remind me of the image of Sleipnir’s eight legs on the Scandinavian Rune Stones.
I am new to band weaving but really like it. Are you using an inkle or are you tablet weaving (both?). I am also a spinner, knitter and weaver and once I get a little better at the inkle, want to use some handspun silk to make a band. Have you tried this yet?
ReplyDeleteHi Cate!
ReplyDeleteIf you go back to my Jan 08 archive, you will see I made this band on a double hole rigid heddle loom made by my husband. I love these looms!
