SEA BLUE SOCKS

The yarns for the blue poncho mentioned in a previous post were so pretty that I decided I needed to make some socks too!

I used Jacquard acid dyes (turquoise, sky blue, lilac, teal and possibly some royal blue) for the colors. The different shades were carded together to make streaky effects. The wool is Finn from our flock.

They look terrific! The different shades of blue are perfect together...and I bet they are very soft ;-)

The color for the socks is awesome. I haven't tried any acid dyes yet, but that color scheme makes me want to :P. I haven't spun any Finn up yet, but I do have some to try. I hear it is very soft. :)

They are beautiful. I need to learn how to dye. All I have used is Easter egg, kool aid, food coloring and some natural. I need to try the acid dyes....actually I need to spin some yarn to dye! I am working on it!
