I bought a wheel very similar to the one you show and I have no idea how to have it repaired! Could you possibly head me in the right direction?

Hi Rebecca,
My husband, Fred, restored this wheel. He can fix most wheel problems and make new parts.

My mother left a Saxony style spinning wheel when she died and it has "D.SHELLY" stamped on the bed. Are the Shelly wheels collected only in the US or are they sought-after worldwide? I'm in Norfolk, England.

Hi Yorker, If the wheel looks nearly identical to the one in our photo, it is from Pennsylvania. On our wheel, the name was somewhat crudely carved into the wood.

Perhaps by coincidence, your wheel was made by a different D. Shelly, in England? A Pennsylvania wheel would probably have the highest value in Pennsylvania.
