FINNSHEEP ARE AMAZING!

In the last two weeks, we’ve had a dozen live lambs - - from three ewes!
There were two sets of quads (one little one didn’t make it) and a set of quints.
The ewe, Hannah, that had the quints also had quints in the spring. She is raising three unassisted. Hannah apparently has four functional teats. I didn’t think the “extras” worked, but have read that other Finn breeders have had ewes with functioning extras.

The other two ewes had either trips or quads in the spring. Ursula surprised us and had
her quads unassisted. When I found them in the morning, all were cleaned and some had already been fed. The photo is of Ursula and some of the lambs.

Finnsheep are truly amazing!

Grace they are adorable. Hopefully I will be able to breed mine in the spring. My fingers are crossed!

And their wool is very wonderful - one of my favorites to prep and spin.
